Job Overview:
As a Medical-Surgical Nurse, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. You will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver effective patient care, manage treatments, and support recovery processes. Your role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care throughout their hospital stay.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and provide direct patient care for individuals with medical and surgical conditions.
- Monitor and record vital signs, administer medications, and manage intravenous therapies.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Perform routine and emergency procedures, including wound care, catheter insertion, and dressing changes.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment plans.
- Respond to patient needs and provide support in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Adhere to hospital protocols and infection control procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Requirements:
- Active RN License (Must be valid in the state of practice or compact license)
- 2+ years of experience in medical-surgical nursing or a similar clinical setting
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- COVID-19 Vaccination and current health documentation
- Ability to manage a diverse patient population and adapt to various clinical needs
